Pivots
Now, I would like to introduce you to the pivot technique. It is basically a regular arpeggio, but we’ll be dropping the third an octave down.
For example on Fm7, after playing the tonic F I’m going to drop its third Ab, an octave below and go back up, with the fifth C and seventh Eb. I’m going to demonstrate this great device while pivoting on each chord.
